I am an accomplished writer and journalist, with over a decade of experience in copywriting, corporate communication, and journalism.

As a journalist, I write longform stories at the intersection of culture, politics, and the environment in Turkey, Eastern Europe, and the Middle East. My work has appeared in The Atlantic, National Geographic, The Guardian, The Daily Beast, The Independent, BBC, Cornucopia Magazine, and PRI, and many other places. I've written about wildfires endangering honeybees in Turkey, hydroelectric dam threats in the Albanian mountains, the politics of local beer in Ukraine, urban development in Zanzibar, women's rights in Tunisia, water infrastructure and the threat of day zero in Istanbul, among other fascinating topics.

I also specialize in global labor issues, and was awarded a Pulitzer Center Work/Environment grant to support my reporting on this topic for The Atlantic. I’ve written nearly 100 articles for SHRM (The Society for Human Resource Management) on a wide variety of global labor topics, including cryptocurrency, workplace surveillance, shortened work weeks, gender, AI, data privacy, and more.

As a copywriter, I’ve worked with high-profile companies and organizations, including Viator/TripAdvisor, Mandarin Oriental Hotels, JayWay Travel, Hilton Hotels, Topia, Context Travel, and more. Since 2018, I have written and updated the Istanbul chapter of the Fodor’s Essential Turkey travel guide.

I am always available for freelance and contract projects, please contact me at knadworny [at] gmail [dot] com.
